Trailing 3-1, Florida scored five runs in the fifth with two outs to take a 6-3 lead. Hanley Ramirez singled up the middle before Uggla belted a 1-1 pitch off the wall in left for an RBI triple. Mike Jacobs followed with a double to right to score Uggla. Maddux then intentionally walked Cabrera and Borchard made Maddux pay as he launched a three-run homer into the seats in right to give the Marlins a three-run edge.
Cabrera slammed a three-run homer in the seventh off Roberto Novoa to give the Marlins a comfortable 9-3 lead. Uggla sliced a single to left and Jacobs walked before Cabrera drove a 2-1 pitch into the seats in right.
The Marlins went up 1-0 in the home half of the first on an RBI double off the top of the wall in left-center by Cabrera that scored Uggla, who singled earlier in the inning.
