GAME 1 Doubleheader Wrap-Up: Marlins @ Mets

The Marlins, coming off a superb effort by Dontrelle Willis, looked to swipe game 1 of a Satuday double header. Things got off quick in the second inning with a Miguel Cabrera homerun that barely left the yard. Josh Willingham followed it up in the 5th with a solo shot and stayed hot. The Mets put 2 on the board in the 5th from some sloppy pitching as Josh Johnson seemed to be running out of gas. JJ walked to runs in with the bases loaded. Hanely Ramirez responded immediatley in the 6th with a massive solo shot to left field which decided the game.

Cabrera might have been ejected late in the game but his bat spoke for itself early

A little scuffling in the 8th inning by both teams when Miguel Cabrera was intentionally hit while trying to lay down a bunt in retaliation to Cliff Floyd getting plunked in the previous inning. This was really uncalled for and showed the lack of class from the New York Mets. Cabrera wound up getting tossed at the end of the inning for walking after Duaner Sanchez as he was walking off the mound and yelling profanities at him. Expect some fireworks in Game 2 and expect an offensive retaliation from Miguel Cabrera on Mike Pelfrey making his major league debut.
