New Blog Feature — UserOnline and Flickr Badge Widget

Once again the Matter is Pimping Your Blog! I have implemented 2 new plugins and removed an older one which I found was putting some massive strain on my database. So I got rid of the suspect Exec-PHP script and added some new eye candy. On the top right you can obviously see the new Random Sportshot applet which will load random images pulled from my Flickr account. This replaces the Weekly Sportshot applet to keep it more randomized. Let me know how you like it! You can grab yours from Ben’s Website. More on the plugin

This is plugin I wrote for the Widget Sidebar in WordPress. It will display your flickr photos in your blog’s sidebar.
It’s basically a wrapper round the badge functionality that flickr provide and publish. I’ve ported this from the Joomla module I wrote ages ago, it took no time at all and it’s working fine (see over on the right – my sad photos) – let me know if you run into any problems using it.

The other plugin I installed today can be found in two location. First place is in summary format in the footer of the page. You can see current online stats (online users, most online users). You can also get a full list/summary of site users/page views/ip’s etc. Scroll to the bottom of the page to check out the footer and check the link in the SporTech Pages for the Online User Info page. From the plugin’s homepage…

Enable you to display how many users are online on your Wordpress blog with detailed statistics of where they are and who there are(Members/Guests/Search Bots).

Grab your copy from Lester ‘GaMerZ’ Chan’s website. He also has loads of other great plugins!

Enjoy guys!
