Scoreboard Matter – Brrrrrrr!
Good morning South Florida! Brrrrrr. Feel that cool air out there? It’s beautiful! I have to give people who live up north credit. I do not for the life of me understand how you get out of bed in the winter months. I remember having to get up for school when I was little growing up in New Jersey but I was forced out by mom. The motivation needed to pull yourself from under three blankets in South Florida when the weather drops this low is rough. But nonetheless, SporTech is a trooper and here to blog for you. So the Heat are back in town, and Shaq must have sneezed too hard on the flight back from Chicago because he missed Monday’s practice due to a sore calf. Shaq is starting to turn into the big disappointment. Check the schedule for tonight…
- 7:30 p.m.: Bucks-Heat, Sun Sports; WIOD (610), WQBA (1140, Spanish) – With O’Neal hurting, the defending NBA champions have relied on Dwyane Wade to carry them. Wade, averaging a team-best 28.4 points per game, had 24 on Saturday for his lowest scoring output in eight games. The Heat hope a return home will help them end their struggles. Miami won a season-high four in a row prior to this 2-6 stretch. The Heat should have a chance to end their losing streak against the Bucks, whom they have beaten five straight times at AmericanAirlines Arena. Shaq is questionable for tonights game with a sore calf (shocker)
- 7:30 p.m.: Panthers-Penguins, FSNF; WQAM (560) – Florida (19-22-10) is doing its best to stay in the race. The Panthers are last in the Southeast Division with 48 points, but have won consecutive games spanning the All-Star break, including a 4-2 victory over New Jersey — which leads Pittsburgh by 11 points in the Atlantic — on Saturday. The Panthers have won consecutive games for the first time since Dec. 27-29. They trailed twice against the Devils before coming back for the victory. The Panthers have dominated the Penguins this year so make sure to check this one out. I will be flip flopping between the Heat and Panthers games.
Hope everyone stays warm and has a nice day!
