Soon It Will be Time to Take the Throne

The arguments are made everyday, on every talk show, on every tv show, on every pregame show. Is Dwyane Wade the next in line to sit on Michael Jordan’s throne? Some will tell you he is better RIGHT NOW then Jordan ever was. Some will tell you he will never be as good. The bottom line is, Wade is now the face of the NBA, and I’m not complaining. Wade has gotten more attention this weekend from Las Vegas then the craps tables have gotten from Charles Barkley. He’s everywhere in Vegas. On billboards. At the Jam session, where you could walk into a makeshift model of his head and see all he has done in his short career. On buses. Dropping a new shoe. Throwing parties. Las Vegas has done everything but design new slot machines around him. Pay attention. Who got the most face time on All-Star Saturday night? Who was asked his opinion regarding the dunk contest barely halfway through? It wasn’t King James. Wade is humble throughout the whole thing but understands what kind of realm he is entering…

“You know what? It does something for your ego,” said Wade. “I was talking to Caron Butler, and we are sitting there, and I’m like, ‘You know what, man? Everybody is humble in their own right but when you are sitting in that locker room and you see everybody sitting around, you think to yourself, I am pretty good.’

“You say I am darn good. I am one of the best.”

According to many, he is already the best and he just needs to take that extra step. So what is my point? Yeah I know, I am a huge Dwyane Wade fan. One could say from the amount of posts on this site that it’s entering man crush territory. My point is to basically bring to your attention this wonderful article praising Wade and to spark a discussion about what makes Wade the best in the game (better than Kobe, Lebron, Dirk, etc) and if he will pass the legend that is MJ.

I have never drank from the Michael Jordan/Dwyane Wade comparison koolaid, but I feel it’s time. Your thoughts?
