Scoreboard Matter – The Streak Lives

Big road win for the Heaters last night as they extend their winning streak to 8 games and pull within a half game of the division leading Wizards. Jason Williams and Udonis Haslem both chipped in with big games. Let’s check the score breakdowns and highlight packages…

Yesterdays Games

  • Florida Marlins 9, Houston Astros 8 – While Ricky Nolasco has a starting spot with Florida, the back end of Houston’s rotation remains unsettled. Nolasco, projected as the Marlins’ No. 4 starter, allowed four runs and six hits in five innings of his team’s 9-8 victory over the Astros on Thursday.
  • Buffalo Sabres 5, Florida Panthers 3 – Ty Conklin is already winning over his new Buffalo Sabres teammates. Conklin made 42 saves Thursday night and helped the Sabres snap a season-worst, four-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over the Florida Panthers.
  • Miami Heat 93, New Jersey Nets 86 – Being glued to the bench with three fouls for most of the first half didn’t sit well with Shaquille O’Neal, and it showed in the second half against the New Jersey Nets. A well-rested O’Neal scored 17 of his 19 points in the final two quarters and the Miami Heat won their eighth straight game with a 93-86 win Thursday night.

Today’s Games

  • New York Mets at Florida Marlins, 7:05 PM EST – The Marlins play their final night game of Spring Training against the Mets at 7:05 ET today. Sergio Mitre looks to build on a strong two-inning stint in his first Grapefruit League outing. Tom Glavine goes for the Mets.
  • Sacramento Kings (28-36) at Miami Heat (35-29), 7:30 PM EST SUNSPORTS – Strong defense has brought the Miami Heat within one-half game of the Southeast Division lead. It’s also allowed them to go on a three-year run against the Sacramento Kings. The Heat look to extend a 13-game home winning streak, win their ninth straight overall and continue their dominance of the Kings as the teams conclude their season series Friday night. A win would move Miami (35-29) into a tie for first place in the Southeast Division with Washington, which is idle until Saturday against New Orleans.

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday!
