It’s a Sweep!

The Florida Marlins completed the 3 game sweep of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays this weekend. Florida’s 4-3 victory at Tropicana Field completed a three-game sweep and assured a split of the 10-game road trip that had a gloomy start.
The keys from the roadtrip: After losing the first four games (including being swept by lowly Washington), Florida won five of the past six to finish 5-5. The Marlins scored 34 runs in those six games, a total they reached in the previous 12.
The bad news from the roadtrip: Since the start of the trip, closer Henry Owens, first baseman Mike Jacobs and starter Ricky Nolasco were placed on the disabled list.
The slop from the roadtrip: The Marlins made 14 errors on the trip, including equaling a team record of five in one game at Pittsburgh.
The good news is the Marlins come back for a 6 game homestand. The bad news is the homestand is against 2 powerhouses in the Mets and Phillies.
The Fish have an off day today and are back in action tomorrow. Scott Olsen takes the mound against lefty Cole Hamels.
