Those Are Fightin Words
So the Florida Marlins defeated the Philadelphia Phillies last night in game 1 of the 3 game series. The Marlins tamed the beast that is Cole Hamels with 4 runs in the 6th to put the game out of reach. The major fireworks of the night involved Phillies 2B Chase Utley and Scott Olsen who was a little upset at the amount of times Chase was calling time out, and stepping out of the batters box. If you remember from last season, Scotty doesn’t like the Phils. His emotions boiled over in the sixth inning, when he became angry at Chase Utley for calling time just before a pitch. The next pitch was ball four, and Utley trotted to first base as Olsen angrily shouted and waved his glove at him. In the bottom of the inning, the Marlins totaled four extra-base hits to rally against Cole Hamels. Scott Olsen has put it behind him but it sure has left a foul taste in the Phillies mouths…
“There’s not much to say about it,” Utley said. “He got a call he didn’t like. And I didn’t agree with him. … It’s pretty clear a lot of guys don’t like him.”
“I don’t take comments like that lightly,” Hamels said. “I wanted to beat him especially. I know a lot of guys on our team don’t like him.”
Round two tonight from DS. Sadly there is no TV tonight.
