Quick Hits: Marlins/Brewers Game 2

New feature here I’ve been thinking of doing for a while now. As you have noticed lately the consistency of game preview posts have dwindled. I have gotten sick of doing a daily game preview and have resorted to previewing the whole series in it’s entirety. In order to make it possible for me to get work done at work I have scrapped the daily preview idea and will just bring you some Quick Hits of the game of the day. I will also post daily starting lineups when they become available. Starting with tonight’s game 2 against the Brew Crew, here are your Quick Hits…
Against the Brewers: The Marlins are 1-3 vs. the Brewers this year, 0-1 in this series, and dropping two of three vs. the Brew Crew in Miami, April 9-11. Florida is 38-32 all-time vs. the Brewers. The Marlins were 7-0 vs. the Brewers overall, including a three-game sweep here last season.
Hammer Where the Home Is: Josh Willingham is hitting .340 (34×100) with 23 RBI on the road, compared to .198 (18×91) with 14 RBI at home this season. Willingham has eight extra-base hits and 24 strikeouts at Dolphin Stadium and 15 extra-base hits and 19 strikeouts on the road.
Gregg the Stopper: Kevin Gregg, who entered the season with one save in three career chances, is 6×6 in save opportunities this year. He has allowed just one earned run in his last 18 appearances (17.2 IP), lowering his ERA from 3.86 to 1.99, and has not allowed an earned runs in his last 11 games (10.2 IP). The Marlins are 8-2 in his last 10 appearances.
First pitch for Game 2 comes from lovely Miller Park. Jeff Suppan toes the slab and delivers pitch one at 8:05 PM EST.
As always GO FISH!!!
