I guess we don't really have the cap room, but trade rumors abound! I have heard things about Artest and Rashard Lewis. Both of those players would help now, which is important. In fact, the deal for Rashard Lewis that I heard about involves trading Cook.

I'm not that familiar with our cap and luxury tax situation. Can the money received actually be used towards a free agent or sign and trade?

I watched Ohio State play a lot this year, but I almost never noticed Cook. I am also worried that the odds of 3 players from one school to succeed is not very good; 3 freshmen at that...

But, I can also see that the Heat got the player they wanted (out of what was available) and some cash; they essentially got paid to make their pick. And it is hard to argue with that.

Sure, Cook may be a little bit of a project, but I hope that Miami's off season is not over. There are some vets out there that I would like to see us pursue.

Excellent review of our draft jonny. I will be honest I had no idea who this guy was when we selected him (Jason Smith) and I promptly turned my TV off the draft after our pick.

The only thing I can think of is the Heat knew the 76ers wanted Smith and basically held him hostage to pry some cash and a pick out of the Sixers.

Regardless we made out well. The key is if this guy will even sniff the court in the next year or two. We all know how Riley loves to give playing time to kids.

Hopefully the FO are working on a FA deal or a trade down the line b/c this surely doesn’t solve all our problems.
