Mo-Mentum Shifts to Milwaukee

My rumors are starting to crap in my face. But hey, that’s what rumors are for, to backfire and make bloggers look stupid. Reports are circulating that Mo Williams is expected to sign an offer from the Milwaukee Bucks that will pay him $52 million bucks over six years. You really can’t blame the guy for taking 21 million dollars more than what the Heat could offer. The Heat are stuck in salary cap hell b/c of the albatross like contracts of Shaquille O’Neal and Antoine Walker. The option of playing alongside D-Wade and Shaquille O’Neal obviously is not worth more than 21 million bucks. It would seem all along Williams agent was playing the Heat to get more money out of the Bucks. Mo’s agent seems to think something will get done early next week…
”It’s hard to say [if Friday's deals] will have anything to do with this,” Williams’ agent, Mark Bartelstein, said Friday night. “But we’re reaching a point where we hope to have something wrapped up.”
So that leaves the Heat to fall back on options B, C, and D. Steve Blake? Signed with Portland. Chucky Atkins? Signed with Denver. Derek Fisher? Signed with the Lakers.
I’m not sure if we are in panic mode yet but we still have options. Guest SporTech writer jonnylons does a great job breaking down those options in his latest blog post for MiamiHeatWave.
What do you think the Heat’s next move should be?
Update: According to ESPN’s Chris Sheridan, Mo Williams has agreed to a six-year deal worth $52 million to re-sign with the Milwaukee Bucks.

First off, I just wanted to say that I really love the design remix. You have really made this theme your own and it looks great!
As for the Heat, things are looking worse and worse. According to ESPN, Mo officially agreed to a deal with the Bucks… It is an absolutely crushing blow for the Heat. And the fans desperately needed a sign that the team was moving forward. Unfortunately, the 3 best options at the guard are gone. And Daequan Cook is not going to be ready to play this year. I am going to research a little and see who is out there, but I am feeling more and more depressed…

Thanks alot for your compliments J David. I really appreciate it. It took me a while to get everything configured the way I wanted but I really like the results. I was having some issues with my server but that is not resolved and the site runs nicely now.
As far as Mo goes it’s a huge blow to a team that had set it’s sights on one target. I really didn’t like that plan from the beginning b/c now we are left with scraps. Ira mentions guys like Brevin Knight and Early Boykins but really is that the answer? That leaves little to be desired. I would love if we could swing a trade for Corey Maggette.
Any idea if that is feasible?
