As reported yesterday Alonzo Mourning’s decision on whether or not to return to the Miami Heat for one more season was very close and last night Alonzo let the cat out of the bag. Alonzo announced he will return for his final season in the NBA with the Miami Heat. Last I checked Mourning was concerned with the direction the team was going and wanted to see fast improvements before making any decisions. Unless he knows something Heat fan’s don’t, expect a few moves to come within the next 2 weeks to improve this roster and a decision about Riley’s future as well.

“I strongly feel we will come back with a great deal of hunger because of the embarrassment,” he said in formally announcing his return in a postgame news conference. “I don’t want to end my career by getting swept by the Bulls. That’s not a good ending in a book, which I’m in the process of writing right now.

“I’m not going to let this opportunity slip away. I want us to finish off on a very strong note. I don’t think we’re going to settle for anything else than getting to the [NBA] Finals.”

I think we all feel the same way you do Zo. Welcome back and give em hell!

Also, leave it up to Damon Jones to try to steal the spotlight away from Zo in the video above.
