Health Matter: JJ Throws 3 1/3 Scoreless, Lindstrom Resting Back

Fireballer Matt Lindstrom is going to be temporarily sidelined due to a sore back but expects to be available in the next day or two. Lindstrom, usually slotted for the seventh and sometimes eighth inning, pinpoints his problem to a soft bed. In the furnished apartment that he’s renting, he says his king-sized bed is too soft, and it makes it uncomfortable for his back. So uncomfortable was he on Thursday night that he slept on the floor.

JJ Rehabs: Josh Johnson made a rehab start for Class A Jupiter on Friday, and he reported no problems afterwards. Johnson threw 29 of his 45 pitches for strikes, went to a three-ball count once and allowed only three singles. With a strict pitch count of 50, he was lifted after retiring the first batter in the fourth. He signed autographs in left field for about 20 minutes, got some treatment in the locker room and left without speaking to reporters.
