Please, Upgrade to IE7 or Firefox

I’m done worrying about making this site compliant with Internet Explorer 6. Why such the hostile stance on web browsers all of the sudden? Well it’s about time everyone upgraded their copies of IE6 to either Firefox or IE7 and got with the program. Microsoft is finally offering all users of Microsoft Windows operating systems a free download of Internet Explorer 7, even if you illegally downloaded your copy. From eWeek…

“Microsoft takes its commitment to help protect the entire Windows ecosystem seriously, and we’re taking a step to help make consumers safer online. We feel the security enhancements to Internet Explorer 7 are significant enough that it should be available as broadly as possible, and this means making it available to all users of IE 7-compatible Windows operating systems,” Steve Reynolds, program manager for Microsoft, based in Redmond, Wash., told eWEEK.

“With today’s Installation and Availability Update, IE 7 installation will no longer require Windows Genuine Advantage validation, and will be available to all Windows XP users,” he said.

So those IE6 users get on the ball and upgrade your copy of Internet Explorer right away and enjoy tabbed browsing and better website rendering.
