Report: Dolphins Claim Gado Off Waivers

In an effort to make a push towards the playoffs the Dolphins today claimed running back Samkon Gado from the Houston Texans. Gado will help fill the void left by Ronnie Brown and will join a backfield with Jesse Chatman and Patrick Cobbs. Gado is eager to help another team although regrets not being able to stick around with the Texans. MyFox Houston reports

“It means a lot,” Gado said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. “In our profession what a player wants to know the most is, does he have value to a team. So being picked up on waivers rather than becoming a free agent is a big deal.”

Though he’s happy with being picked up, Gado still regrets leaving the Texans.

“I have mixed emotions because everything happened so fast,” Gado said. “This is very difficult. I really felt I could have helped the team and coach (Gary) Kubiak. I really bought into his vision.”

Gado will be unavailable to join the Dolphins in London but plans on meeting up with the team on Monday.
