Carolina Divers: Eddie the Eagle Takes Flight

Since the Cats took on the Carolina Divers last night I figured I would try to round up that video of Ed Belfour imitating the Carolina Hurricanes during a match up at the BAC last year. If you didn’t read, the Hurricanes were pretty pissed off with the diving calls in last nights games.
“I’ve never been known as a diver and I think video is conclusive enough,” Williams said. “That’s a tough way to lose a game, real tough. I had my legs taken out but apparently someone saw it the other way.”
Horton grabbed Williams from behind and pulled him down but both players headed to the penalty box.
“I’m at a loss for words,” Carolina coach Peter Laviolette said. “That’s the power of the print. I don’t know what to say … it started the whole unraveling. I have no idea why there was a diving penalty. I’d like to get an explanation.”
Referee Brad Watson made both of the diving calls.
“Those are the kind of calls you get when you’re at home and it’s Halloween,” Cole said.
