What the Hell, Your Not Supposed to Win!

Recap | Boxscore | Video | Photos
I was starting to wonder if the Miami Heat would get their first win before the Miami Dolphins. I really don’t expect any pity to be honest with you, After all, I do write for a sports blog with the tagline, “Covering the South Florida Sports Market One Loss at a Time…”. Well I’ve been covering 19 straight losses between our Dolphins and Heat and it’s about damn time someone decided to make us halfway proud.
The Miami Heat dropped 75 points on the Knicks which was enough to secure the first victory of the season. Jason Williams made the go-ahead jumper with 19 seconds left and dropped 2 extra free throws in to lock up the away win. The Heat held the Knicks to 37% shooting and 18% from behind the 3 point line. This was not an interesting game at all and until a healthy and in shape Wade returns the Heat brand of basketball is going to be boring, so get used to it.
Shaq and Rick Dees chipped in 14 points while The Crushernaut chipped in 16 points and 16 rebounds. Yes I called him Rick Dees, that is my new nickname for Ricky Davis. Get with the nickname.
Prior to the game Dwyane Wade decided to sit this one out and was actually quite close to returning but decided to give himself one more game. Expect Wade to get his season debut on Tuesday in Charlotte or the following home game against Seattle.
I found myself watching this game like it was a must win to make it into the playoffs. Is this what we have come to as fans of our local teams? Just hoping for a regular season victory?
Hell, I’ll take it.
