The Future is Now!
That’s right. This coming Sunday Dolphin fans will have something to look forward to for once. While it might not be that first elusive win, John Beck will get the starting nod behind center for your Miami Dolphins. This news comes down after the Palm Beach Post suggested that Cleo Lemon would remain as the starter this Sunday with John Beck being very close. I guess it was a lot closer than they thought. Armando Salguero breaks the news…
Rookie quarterback John Beck will start Sunday’s game against the Eagles, making his debut as the Dolphins quarterback in Philadelphia, two sources said Wednesday morning.
Coach Cam Cameron advised both Cleo Lemon and Beck of the move during meetings with each. The team believes Beck, a second-round draft pick in this year’s draft, is now prepared for the promotion.
You know my opinion on this matter. This can only be a good thing as we have to find out what we have in this kid. He is no spring chicken and with many decent options available at QB in this upcoming draft, this move is very important. While 6 games shouldn’t really give them a strong idea of what they have in Beck it at least gives them a glimpse of the future.
Prepare for some major ups and downs with this kid. Be patient and understand we are in the rebuilding process. This kid should surely excite us more than once before the end of the season.

Finally, some reason for a smidge of optimism. I’m thinking 14-27, 143 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT. Anything more and I’m thrilled. Anything less and I’ll start scouting Brohm and Andre Woodson. But yeah, 3 weeks too late but at least the trigger’s been pulled.
