Dolphin Report, Dolphin Report! See what’s going on today with one of the crappiest franchises in the NFL! Of course you can get all your up to date and witty Dolphin analysis from my boy Dude over at FinsNation.com.

Dolphins MLB Zach Thomas (concussion) returned to team drills Wednesday and is expected to start on Sunday. Meanwhile, WLB Channing Crowder limped badly on his sprained ankle and appears questionable for Week 5 at Houston. While Thomas’ return is good, Crowder’s absence would be more bad for the NFL’s last-place run defense.

Honestly, does his return really help THAT MUCH? I commend ZT for getting back on the field so quickly but I think are problems are alot worse than not being without Zach Thomas.

Dolphins S Travares Tillman underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday. He’s out 1-3 games at least. Tillman recently lost his starting job to Donovin Darius, who had nine stops in Week 4 and is an IDP sleeper at the moment.

Hopefully Tillman can get back on the field quickly. If DD can put together a few performances like he did last week, we might have found a steal.

Ronnie Brown leads all NFL running backs with 20 catches and 248 receiving yards, and his average of 5.2 yards per carry ranks first among players with at least 60 rushes. And all of that comes despite a slow start that included losing touches to Jesse Chatman. “That’s the one thing that was obvious when we first got here, how well he catches the football,” coach Cam Cameron said. “What’s really encouraging is his explosiveness and how he is running with authority.”

Starting today I am going to be doing a daily feature on Dolphin news. This makes it easier to compile all the Dolphin news from the weekend or day into one neat little post. Of course FinsNation.com is your one stop shop for all things Dolphin related, but I felt the need to throw my 2 cents in on this awful team.

Injuries, Injuries, Injuries

Channing Crowder - Crowder, who walked with a significant limp after the game, said he sprained his left ankle when his cleat got stuck in the mud that formed when it rained on the infield dirt before the game.

Vonnie Holliday - Holliday’s right ankle sprain also took place on the side of the field that has the infield dirt, but it’s unclear if the field conditions contributed to his injury.

Depth Chart Moves

Donovin Darius, filling in for the injured Yeremiah Bell, has already jumped past Travis Daniels on the Dolphins depth chart. Darius started his first game yesterday and recorded a team high 9 tackles. The Dolphins were desperate to improve on Special Teams yesterday that they inserted starters from the defense and offense to lend a hand. Will Allen and Crowder were inserted on Special Teams as well as Ted Ginn, who recorded one tackle.

Run Ronnie Run

Lost in all the…well…losing was another amazing performance from Ronnie Brown who when used properly actually looks like a 2nd overall pick. Ronnie led the Dolphins in both rushing and receiving yesterday compiling 134 yards on only 15 carries and receiving 73 yards on six catches.

Update: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday will miss at least one-to-two weeks after suffering a lower leg fracture in Sunday’s loss. Dolphins LBs Channing Crowder (ankle) and Zach Thomas (concussion) are considered day-to-day, according to coach Cam Cameron.
