By JD · November 17, 2008 · Filed in Florida Marlins, Media · No Comments »

Happy Monday morning Fish heads. It’s amazing what a Dolphin win can do for your Monday morning. As long as they keep winning the less I feel like I have a case of “The Mundays”.

New week, new featured video. This weeks is a clip from the 2003 World Series DVD. Relive the experience! Enjoy.

Tuesday Video Switch

Forgot to update the video feature yesterday but managed to get a new fresh one up today. This weeks video features Jeremy Hermida and his entrance into the big leagues. Let’s take a step back and remember what happened that night at Joe Robbie against the Cardinals…

Jeremy Hermida of the Florida Marlins hit a grand slam home run in his first big league at-bat on August 31, 2005 against the St. Louis Cardinals. He is one of just three players in baseball history to hit a grand slam in his first major league plate appearance (Kevin Kouzmanoff and Bill Duggleby are the other two).

If only that was a sign of things to come…enjoy!

Look Ma, We Got a Team AND Uniforms!

Here is a little nostalgic video I stumbled upon on the Marlins message board. They are so 90’s looking but so beautiful at the same time. Really miss those vests and teal hats.

Not sure if the early Marlins were a better baseball team or runway models, you decide.

The Monday Video Switch

Every Monday I will change out the featured Marlins video of the week. Hope everyone enjoyed a little Marlins history in the last one as it featured Anibal Sanchez’s wonderful no hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the first no hitter in the league since Randy Johnson’s perfect game against Atlanta.

This week’s video is from the crew over at MarlinBaseball.com. This was a year in review video done to music and was brilliantly done. It’s titled Fish Bites the 2006 Florida Marlins story.

Enjoy!

The Wildcat is Here to Stay

“An inside look into the newest offensive formation that is taking Dolphins football by storm”

According to Coach Sparano, the Dolphins have only scratched the surface on the Wildcat formation…

“We just scratched the surface of what we were trying to do,” Sparano said Monday, a day after the Dolphins routed the New England Patriots 38-13. “This is not something that just came up and we scribbled on the board a couple days ago.”

“It wasn’t about what New England was going to do,” Sparano said. “It was more from our end to get the right people on the field and give them a chance to touch the ball a little bit.”

Not a bad idea. I can’t wait until someone actually throws a pass to Chad Pennington. Oh wait, I don’t want that to happen.

Update: Just got done reading Phin Phanatic’s breakdown of the Wild Cat. It’s a great read and I suggest you check it out.
