“This is not what I signed up for Shaq.”

Pretty slow weekend for news. The Heat were beaten on by the Van Gundy’s last night in O-Town. Shaq continues to play well along side D-Wade but it’s just not coming together yet. Wade seems to be back to form as he has put up 30+ points in the last 2 games. Numerous highlight reel shots as well. Check some here, here and here. Pretty sick stuff.

Derrick Pope, who was admitted to a South Florida hospital yesterday, traveled with the team to Pittsburgh and remains questionable for Monday night’s game against the Steelers. Pope released a statement upon his release from the hospital.

“I didn’t feel well and thought I needed medical attention,” Pope said in a statement released through the team. “Everything checked out and I feel better.

“I appreciate everyone’s concerns. I know our team physicians have been in touch with the hospital medical staff and are satisfied that everything is in order.”

I was one of the lucky people to actually work on Friday and I got to go down to Collins Ave and check out a building for work. Seems I stumbled upon a high profile Major League Baseball player’s new Penthouse being built and got some snaps from the balcony overlooking Miami. Figured I would share them below. Sorry I couldn’t get any actual shots of the Penthouse but it does have a 360 view of the Atlantic and Miami.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

Take a look at a collection of the all the Boston themed SI covers from this year. That place is turning into a pressure cooker waiting to pop full of Massholes. (Boston)

Excuse my ignorance because I do not follow USC football. I grabbed this picture with my T-Mobile Dash last weekend and pretty much had to do a double take. Is it me or does this kid’s jersey say Dr. John or is that De John? Either way, I think it would be pretty cool for a player to request Dr. John on the back of his uniform, especially if his major relates.

Yeah, it’s a slow day.

Update: Commenter Ted informs my stupid ass that is Michael DeJohn from ALABAMA, not USC. As you can see I don’t pay attention to college ball. Thanks Ted!

Couple of game day notes with updates later with inactives. ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports Ted Ginn will start Sunday. The Miami Herald speculated earlier in the week Derek Hagan would be Miami’s starter opposite Marty Booker, but it appears the Dolphins will go with Ginn instead.

Check back in a few for inactives.

Update: Patriots declared TE Benjamin Watson, OL Wesley Britt, DL Kareem Brown, LB Eric Alexander, S Mel Mitchell, RB Sammy Morris, and DL Mike Wright inactive for Sunday’s contest at Miami. Dolphins declared RB Lorenzo Booker, S Travares Tillman, LB Abraham Wright, DT Jesse Mahelona, DL Vonnie Holliday, DE Rob Ninkovich, DT Sam Rayburn, and DT Anthony Bryant inactive for Week 7. Cleo Lemon starts at quarterback. Marty Booker and Ted Ginn start at WR.

Other Tributes and Responses to the Chris Chambers trade
: Greg Cote @ Miami Herald, Armando Salguero @ Dolphins in Depth, Omar Kelly @ Sun-Sentinel, Dave George @ The Palm Beach Post, The Dude @ FinsNation, Ben Volin @ The Palm Beach Post

If I had to think of a few plays or games that stand out to me for Chris Chambers, the obvious choice would be the 2005 matchup at Dolphin Stadium where Sage Rosenfels led the late comeback against the Bills and CC84 had his breakout game. Chris put up 238 yards and caught the game winning touchdown. One of the more spectacular plays he made was against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Chris went up for a one handed grab that was at least 2-3 feet above his head and pulled it in with his fingers. You can see the highlight of that play in the above video at the 32 second mark.

That being said, good luck in San Diego Chris! Hopefully they will start winning next year and do more losing this year because, well, I WANT A HIGH SECOND ROUNDER!!

Do you guys have any thoughts about Chris and his play, specifically any games or plays that stand out in your mind?

As you guys know I love taking pictures at the games I attend. I recently had to make a decision to replace the script I was using with a new, more efficient one that integrated nicely with my new theme. I decided to scrap the FAlbum script I was using and switch to the new Flickr Photo Album script. I grabbed it from TanTanNoodles.com

The WordPress Flickr Photo Album plugin will pull in your Flickr photo sets and display them as albums on your WordPress site. There is a pretty simple template provided, but you can customize the templates 100% to match the look and feel of your own site.

This plugin will also add a new Photos tab (next to the existing Upload tab) in your WordPress edit screen which will allow you to easily insert your Flickr photos into your blog posts with just a couple clicks (much like the Flickr Post Bar plugin). Your inserted photos will then be linked back to your WordPress Flickr photo album.

I’m still in the process of customizing the script to look perfect but it runs great and navigation through the gallery is nice and easy. Click on the Gallery link on the top of the page or bang the link below.

Enjoy!

I’m nuts!! I have since scrapped this project and gone with a sexy ajax based solution called Slickr Gallery. It’s hella slick!! Clicky below!!
