- Indianapolis 27, Miami 22 - Cleo kept this one close (actually Olindo kept this one close) but Peyton was able to dismantle our secondary all day long. Ronnie hit his 1000 yards for the season but we enter the off season with a real question mark surrounding the Miami Dolphins.
- Miami (FL) 21, Nevada 20 (MPC Computers Bowl) - A bitter season ended sweetly Sunday for the University of Miami. The Hurricanes, who desperately wanted to send out Larry Coker with a victory in his final game as the UM football coach, overcame freezing weather on the blue turf of Bronco Stadium to defeat Nevada 21-20 in the MPC Computers Bowl.

The up-and-coming Florida Marlins, who already have used 20 rookies, will be featured on the popular “This Week in Baseball” at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
The TWIB crew was in Miami recently, collecting footage for the half-hour show, famous for its highlights, bloopers and behind-the-scenes look at the game.
For the show, first baseman Mike Jacobs wore a microphone during batting practice. Also, several players, including Dan Uggla, Josh Johnson and Logan Kensing went to South Beach for dinner.
Jacobs, a native of San Diego, grew up like so many children watching TWIB.
“It’s always a good show,” Jacobs said. “I liked the bloopers and stuff like that. It’s always been a cool thing to watch. The highlights are probably the coolest part.”
Marlins manager Joe Girardi, three years removed from his playing days, was raised in Peoria, Ill. When he was a child, and not playing games himself, Girardi was glued to his TV on Saturdays watching TWIB.
“Mel Allen’s voice sticks out more than anything,” Girardi said of the Hall of Fame announcer who was once the voice of the show. “I always couldn’t wait for it, but a lot of times I was playing games.”
The Marlins have become one of the true underdog stories in the game. With such a young squad, this was expected to be a retooling season. But after getting off to an 11-31 start, the Marlins have been on a roll, getting progressively better and flirting with reaching .500.
The team features some of the best young pitchers in the game. Johnson, Scott Olsen and Ricky Nolasco are three rookie starters who are each on pace to win at least 10 games.
Florida’s two most established players are carryovers from their 2003 World Series championship team. Left-hander Dontrelle Willis, a two-time All-Star and former National League Rookie of the Year, already is among the most popular players in the league.
This Week in Baseball
Third baseman Miguel Cabrera, an All-Star for three straight seasons, is among the elite hitters in the game.
TWIB gives a close-up look at a team that is on the rise.
“They wanted to know about our players and our club,” Girardi said. “They asked us about our expectations and what we see.”

The more and more blogs I have read today the more posts I have seen about Harold Reynolds being fired from ESPN. Rumors are running wild. Check out Deadspin for all the updates. Here is the latest update.
From Deadspin:
Another reader, with “contacts on the inside,” refutes the sexual harassment whispers: “Anyone who is saying sexual harassment either has been given bad third-hand info or is lying. Harold has had a couple of rather heated arguments with the producers at “Baseball Tonight,” and some of the suits at ESPN over the program’s coverage of Alex Rodriguez. At the last production meeting, when it was made clear they were going to really play up the A-Rod angle during coverage of the Yankees-Texas series, Harold had a colossal meltdown, which led to his dismissal. The sexual harassment allegations are even more laughable when you consider that he is being replaced by Steve Phillips — a man who has never met a skirt he wouldn’t chase and who was caught in one of the more embarrassing front office sexual harassment scandals in MLB history.”
Take it for what its worth. I could care less. My question is why couldn’t it have been Kruk?
