Sunday Link Dump

Let’s do a quick Sunday Link Dump on a rainy afternoon so I can get back to playing some Worms on PS3. Here it goes…
- Ronny Paulino was part of two separate trades within about a four-hour span late Friday night and early Saturday morning, landing in Florida after he was shipped from the Phillies to the Giants. The Marlins sent minor-league right-handed pitcher Hector Correa to the Giants for a little peace of mind to back up starter John Baker.
- Maritza Thomas, the wife of ILB Zach Thomas, said Saturday that she was mistreated by the same officer who detained Texans RB Ryan Moats while his mother-in-law died in the hospital. Thomas was issued five tickets, handcuffed, and spent three hours in jail after being pulled over for an illegal U-turn.
- With a month remaining before the NFL Draft, the Dolphins’ plans for the No. 25 pick could be coming together. Bill Parcells, Tony Sparano and backup quarterback Chad Henne traveled to Chapel Hill, N.C. and Gainesville on Saturday to work out wide receivers that the Dolphins may be interested in selecting. In Chapel Hill, Parcells and Sparano watched as Henne – the team’s expected quarterback of the future – worked out with several North Carolina players, in particular wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
- Sad news out of Tigers camp. Tigers placed LHP Dontrelle Willis on the 15-day disabled list with an anxiety disorder. He went 0-2 with a 9.38 ERA in eight appearances this spring.
“This is not depression,” Willis said Sunday. “This is something totally different. This is something where they saw something in my blood that they didn’t like. I’m not crazy, though my teammates might think that I’m crazy.”
- Meet Vince Shlomi. He’s probably better known to you as the ShamWow Guy, the ubiquitous television pitchman who has been phenomenally successful peddling absorbent towels and food choppers. Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room. Yes, the ShamWow guy.
Have a good Sunday everyone!
